Noel’s Tree Facts
Christmas trees have many amazing uses that people today have forgotten.. Native Americans used Christmas Trees for medicinal purposes. Pirates would bring Christmas trees on long journeys, as a rich source of Vitamin C to prevent Scurvy. Spruce Beer was once the most popular drink in Quebec!!
Real Christmas trees are also a recyclable resource. Artificial trees consist of plastics and metals that aren’t biodegradable. When disposed of, the artificial trees simply fill landfills. Their effects on our environment are evident and will remain for countless generations. Real Christmas trees help our environment by providing habitat for wildlife and CO2 and so much more. One acre of Christmas trees provides the daily oxygen requirements of 18 people!
Christmas Tree Care Tips
- Tell your tree how much you love it. Stare at your tree and whisper words of affection in a calm voice.
Choose a healthy tree by gently grasping a branch while pulling it towards you. Very few, if any, green needles should remain in your hand.
- Always be sure to make a “fresh cut” on your tree before placing it in your stand.
Check the water level daily to ensure the tree never “drinks” the bowl dry. Never let your tree run out of WATER!
- Never place your tree near heating vents, fireplaces or other sources of heat.
